In a groundbreaking announcement, they revealed that you can now track your checked baggage in their mobile app or on Southwest.com. Cue the applause and confetti, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Southwest proudly declared this game-changing development on a platform that used to be called Twitter, but now goes by the name &#8220;X&#8221; because, you know, keeping up with the times is not really their thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What&#39;s better than two free* checked bags? Delta, the airline that was ahead of the curve, <a href=\"https:\/\/crankyflier.com\/2011\/04\/21\/you-can-now-follow-your-bag-on-delta-in-real-time-like-fedex\/\">introduced this nifty feature way back i<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/crankyflier.com\/2011\/04\/21\/you-can-now-follow-your-bag-on-delta-in-real-time-like-fedex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">n<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/crankyflier.com\/2011\/04\/21\/you-can-now-follow-your-bag-on-delta-in-real-time-like-fedex\/\"> 2011<\/a>. Yes, you read that correctly, 2011. And even American Airlines managed to catch up, albeit a bit late to the party, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/philly\/business\/transportation\/20151002_American_Airlines_adds_real-time_baggage_tracking_for_fliers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in October 2015<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But hey, at least Southwest is making some effort, and you have to give them credit for that. Earlier this month, the airline <a href=\"http:\/\/100.30.205.157\/2023\/10\/southwest-airlines-unveils-major-updates-to-rapid-rewards-program\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"738\">unveiled some customer-friendly updates<\/a> to its popular Rapid Rewards loyalty program. Maybe they&#8217;re finally attempting to clean up their act and polish their image after enduring years of operational challenges and customer complaints. Or maybe they just realized it&#8217;s time to get with the program.
